Heat pumps are a well-engineered technology. They pay off when the cost ratio of the electricity used to other energy sources is favourable. No other heat generator receives such a high energy rating as the heat pump as a "stand alone" device. The heat pump uses at least 75% of environmental energy from the earth, air or water available free of charge. Only 25% is supplied in the form of electricity to operate the heat pump. Nowadays, this can easily be done with "green electricity" from renewable energy sources. This means that the consumer not only saves environmentally conscious energy, but also cash money. The user of a heat pump is also more independent of fossil, finite energy sources and the associated volatile price development. ratiotherm manufactures the heat pumps for use as air-to-water, brine-to-water or water-to-water heat pumps itself. The heat pump as heating and cooling system must be designed correctly for smooth and long operation. The heat pump's performance is subject to a wide variety of requirements due to its operation in summer and winter. For higher power requirements, several heat pumps are often connected in cascades in order to meet the different requirements (heating, cooling, hot water preparation). In the small and medium output range, inverter technology is increasingly gaining acceptance. ratiotherm set a development focus here years ago and is equipping more and more models with this technology.
By using an inverter, the output of the heat pump adapts to the actual and current heating or cooling demand. This guarantees uniform, energy-efficient and gentle operation of the heat pump.

They have advantages due to their wide range of applications and also convince in the partial load range with very high coefficients of performance. State-of-the-art control technology ensures exact monitoring of the heat pump's operating limits. The control always aims at balancing the requirements as quickly as possible with 100% of the available capacities. A limitation of the maximum output is also possible in order to meet the heating requirements of the building at any time.
